Low vision is when the best corrected visual acuity is 6/18 or less and/or field of vision of 10 degree or less.
It can also be described as people who are unable to see objects (say a person’s face) beyond a maximum of 3m i.e., 10 feet distance (with their spectacle correction) and/or people who have difficulty in their side vision (peripheral vision). This visual loss cannot be corrected completely with glasses, contact lenses, medication or eye surgery.
